Ipswich 0-0 Wigan

Town were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw with relegation-fighters Wigan Athletic in a drab match at Portman Road.

Town were without 18-goal top scorer Daryl Murphy and struggled to carve out meaningful opportunities against a spirited Wigan side. Jay Tabb squandered Town's best chance in the first half following a marauding run and through ball by Tyrone Mings, placing the ball beyond keeper and far post after being one-on-one with Al Habsi.

Things barely improved in the second half; David McGoldrick should have done better with a header but aiming straight at the keeper. Substitute Sears almost found a gap at the near post with a close-range effort, but ultimately it was to be a frustrating afternoon against a Wigan side who offered little attacking threat in return.
