Millwall 1-3 Ipswich

Town returned to winning ways and ended a run of two successive defeats to win at Millwall and leapfrog Derby County back into second place.

Noel Hunt gave Town an early lead following brother Stephen's chipped assist, with a low finish to the bottom right-hand corner in the fourth minute. Noel Hunt then made it two with a tap-in after Millwall failed to clear their lines. Town's defence then switched off just before half-time albeit with a well-worked Millwall goal to give the Lions hope.

Town withstood early pressure in the second half although looked dangerous on the counter-attack. Two substitutes then combined as debutant Freddie Sears' clever flick found the run of Parr who coolly slotted home past the onrushing goalkeeper to seal all three points for Town.
