David McGoldrick is a forward currently playing for Town. He joined initially on loan from Nottingham Forest in 4 January 2013 with a view to a permanent move at the end of the season. McGoldrick joined permanently in 1 July 2013 on a free transfer.

2012-13 Edit

McGoldrick had spent the first half of the 2012-13 season on loan at third tier Coventry City, scoring an impressive 16 goals in 22 appearances.

McGoldrick made his debut for Town coming on as a 60th minute subsitute in a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa. His first goal came in a 4-0 home victory against Middlesbrough, a 25-yard strike before being substituted in the 76th minute. McGoldrick finished his loan spell with a total of four goals in 14 appearances.

2013-14 Edit

McGoldrick partially tore his medial ligament in his right knee in a home draw to Blackpool in February, which eventually ruled him out for the rest of the season. McGoldrick finished the 2013-14 season as Town's top scorer with 16 goals, the best return in a season by a Town player since Alan Lee in 2006-07.
