Sir Bobby Robson (1936-2009) was a former professional footballer and manager. Robson started his managerial career at Fulham in 68.

He joined ipswich in 69 and enjoyed great success with the Tractor Boys. He led them to the FA Cup in 78 and UEFA Cup in 81 and most of seasons he was in charge a top 4 finish.

Legacy after Death[]

Robson is still known as an Ipswich legend and is well respected by the clubs fans'. After his death, the club renamed the stand to the north of Portman Road as 'Sir Bobby Robson Stand'. He also has a statue outside Portman road built in 2002 and was unveiled when he returned to the ground as Newcastle manager
